The city of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (SQY) has signed an agreement with Mobilize to conduct a detailed analysis of road quality and safety, noise levels, pollutant emissions and EV charging point locations in the conurbation’s 12 communes.
As a result of this partnership, SQY will become a showcase for the breakthroughs that Mobilize is offering cities and regions, through its partners supplying technology and working in close contact with communities, such as Logiroad.
The study, which will be delivered to SQY at the end of the first quarter of 2023, is based on five services that Mobilize has developed with support from Renault Group’s engineering and digital teams:
•Smart Road Monitoring, to assess the quality of roads and thereby optimise roadworks scheduling
•Safety Road, to identify an area’s accident-prone areas in order to prioritise upgrades and evaluate their impact
•Reduction of Noise Pollution, to ascertain the extent to which roads contribute to noise levels and prioritise the upgrades to reduce it
•Traffic & Reduction of Air Pollution, to combine data including traffic, driver behaviour (speed, braking, etc.), vehicle engine or motor, vehicle production year and road condition with information relating to pollution in order to help cities reduce their NO2 and PM10 emissions
•Smart EV Charging Places, to analyse an area’s geography and EV drivers’ habits in order to suggest the best strategy for charging stations (location and number)
"For several years now, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines has been gathering momentum and building its reputation as a land of innovation and digital transformation. Today, with Mobilize, SQY wants to put data at the centre of the conversation about the smart and sustainable city it aims to become, to encourage changes in behaviour and to treat all users to more innovative and efficient public services. We set in motion, encourage, try out and, when the findings are conclusive, roll out projects that meet the needs of the people living and working here. This is our approach to innovation in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines,” says Jean-Michel Fourgous, President of the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines conurbation.
“We are very proud to team up with SQY. It shows the trust we have earned in a community that has strong ties with Renault Group and that is well known for its pioneering initiatives. SQY will thus become the showcase for the first five data-based services that Mobilize has developed for communities in order to facilitate decision-making, be it to develop or redevelop roads, improve road safety or reduce noise and pollution levels,” adds Fedra Ribeiro, CEO of Mobilize.
